Our story
A Life devoted to the sea and amel yachts
In 1976, Michel Charpentier, a lifelong sailing enthusiast who had spent his youth navigating the waters of Brittany, discovered the Mediterranean. Over the next ten years, first with Prélude Nautisme in Port-Grimaud and later with Glenmor Croisière École in Saint-Raphaël, he found immense joy in passing on his love of sailing to hundreds of aspiring sailors.

A Love Affair with AMEL yachts
In May 1986, Michel embarked on a new venture in yacht brokerage, operating from Saint-Raphaël in the Var region. Dedicated to fellow sea lovers, he took great pleasure in guiding them through their journeys of buying and selling sailboats.
Among the many yachts he represented, AMEL sailboats captured his heart. He was drawn to their seaworthiness, durability, and comfort, as well as their lasting quality, ease of handling, and straightforward maintenance.
A specialisation: AMEL boat brokerage
By 1987, Michel Charpentier had devoted himself entirely to the brokerage of AMEL sailboats. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, he made it his mission to find the finest yachts for his clients, often sourcing them beyond France’s borders and across Europe.
Every AMEL yacht that passed through his hands was among the best-maintained and most beautifully presented on the market. Clients who entrusted him with their boats benefited from swift sales at fair market prices, while buyers had the privilege of acquiring exceptional yachts without delay.
In just a few years, Michel Charpentier became a key figure in the European AMEL brokerage world, working alongside trusted professionals recognized by the AMEL Yachts shipyard.
Thanks to his lifelong passion for AMEL boats and his professional expertise, Michel earned an outstanding reputation, becoming the go-to broker for the AMEL sailing community.
Nearly forty years later, Michel Charpentier can proudly look back on a career that has brought together more than 1,000 AMEL buyers and sellers worldwide. Today, he takes great pride in having played a part in helping so many sailors bring their dreams to life, in his own way.
Benoit Sizun: Carrying Forward a Legacy of Passion and Expertise
In 2012, Benoit Sizun sold his first AMEL yacht, a Super Maramu 2000. Through conversations with AMEL owners, he learned about Michel Charpentier’s expertise and quickly became interested in his specialized brokerage, following his work closely.
Since 2020, sharing the same deep passion for AMEL sailboats as Michel, Benoit Sizun has taken great care in preserving the legacy entrusted to him. Under Michel’s guidance, he has continued the business with the same dedication, applying the same trusted methods and maintaining a close, personal relationship with AMEL buyers and sellers worldwide. His unwavering commitment to client satisfaction ensures that every transaction is handled with the same integrity and professionalism that Michel established.
The company has been renamed Sizun & Charpentier and now operates from offices in Port Napoléon, in the town of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. To facilitate seamless international transactions, it has also joined Ancasta, Europe’s largest yacht brokerage network, further strengthening its global reach.
With Benoit Sizun, the brokerage remains the trusted reference for AMEL enthusiasts, ensuring that buyers and sellers continue to receive the highest level of service and expertise.
