Buying an AMEL sailboat

First, you’ll need to get in touch with Benoit Sizun, a specialized AMEL broker. Together, we’ll discuss your sailboat purchase project: where and how do you want to sail? How often, and with what crew? What model are you planning to buy? What’s your budget? What equipment would you like to have on board?

You can browse the available AMEL yacht listings on our website, subscribe to our newsletter, which is sent out every two weeks, and, of course, reach out to us for information on any yachts we are about to take on as listings. As all yachts presented by Michel Charpentier’s company are carefully selected, you can be assured that you will only find high-quality boats listed at market price.

You can reach out to our team if a yacht catches your interest. We will provide you with all the relevant information about the vessel: inventory, detailed technical description, photos, videos, invoices, and any available surveys.
Benoit Sizun will discuss the pros and cons of the yacht with you and ensure that it perfectly aligns with your project.

You will then have the opportunity to visit the AMEL yacht and form your own impression. You’ll explore the spaces and features of the boat, and ask any remaining questions, particularly those of a technical nature. Thanks to our expertise and knowledge of the market, we can assist you in determining a fair price. If necessary, a survey can be arranged to support the technical condition of the AMEL.

If you are satisfied with the AMEL and wish to purchase it, you will sign a sales agreement from the ABYA (Association of Brokers and Yacht Agents). You will then make a deposit of 10% of the total price of the yacht, which will be held in an escrow account.

Our team will arrange a survey, ideally in your presence, to inspect the condition of the entire yacht. This survey will be at your expense and, if no significant issues are found, it will allow you to sign the sales agreement with complete peace of mind..

Once the sales agreement is signed with the seller, you will transfer the remaining balance of the funds to the escrow account. Michel Charpentier’s company will handle all the administrative procedures, and you will officially become the new owner of an AMEL yacht.

Once the transaction is completed, the broker can, if needed, continue to assist you.
